I love this bird sculpture tucked away round the back of the Renfield Saint Stephen's Church on Bath Street in Glasgow. I wonder how many people pass it every day as they walk along Holland Street and don't even realise it's there.

The crow-stepped gables of Provand's Lordship on Castle Street in Glasgow. Built by Andrew Muirhead, the Bishop of Glasgow, in 1471 as part of the Saint Nicholas's Hospital, it's one of the few buildings in the city to survive from the Medieval period (or there abouts).

The four oldest of Glasgow's thirteen Tontine Heads. Sculpted by David and James Cation between 1737 and 1742, they originally adorned keystones of arches in Allan Dreghorn's Town Hall at Glasgow Cross. For some reason, the top left one always reminds me of Robbie Coltrane as Danny in the 1980s TV series Tutti Frutti. I think it's the hair.

The Argyle Street Ash Tree, famous across Glasgow and a major landmark in the west of the city, is in the running to become the Woodland Trust's Tree of the Year for 2025. It will face some stiff competition, but it would be great to see this 170 year old lone giant win.

The surviving elements of the late 1970s Garnethill Mural Project established by the artist John Kraska, who died earlier this week. This was one of the first community-based projects in Glasgow to create murals on exposed gable ends of the city's tenements as part of a scheme to improve the local environment.
